Welcome to meet the experts
Here you get to learn a little more about the experienced specialists behind Spinnaker Support. When we ask our clients “What makes working with Spinnaker so special?” they list out several reasons, but the most common answer we get is… “the people”. We’re excited for you to get to know more about these amazing and highly experienced people. And good news, when you decide to work with Spinnaker, you just might be partnered up with one of these awesome individuals we are featuring.
How did your journey in the tech industry lead you to Spinnaker Support?
I completed my graduation in 2003 and got into Oracle as a campus placement. That was my first role, and I stayed with Oracle for around 14 years. After Oracle moved their support centers to India, I joined another company, which was a total domain change. It was a startup company where I learned about leveraging social media for marketing. Eventually, I was approached by Spinnaker to manage the database teams. I had a conversation with Bob, who shared his vision for Spinnaker, expecting to grow ten times. He needed someone who understands how to scale and grow to that magnitude, and he was right. We have grown a lot.
In your words, what does Spinnaker Support do?
Spinnaker Support offers an alternative for customers who don’t want to use their entire fortune or divert focus from their primary business just to keep their SAP, JDE, or Oracle instances running. We enable customers to focus on what’s primary to them. For instance, if you’re a retail person or a bank, your main business isn’t fixing database issues—it’s about focusing on your core operations. We allow you to invest your time and money into upgrading or digitally transforming your main business rather than on maintenance.
What degrees and certificates do you currently hold?
I am a computer science graduate, and I completed my BTech with computer science as my major in 2003. Since then, I’ve been working with Oracle and other companies, staying current with technology in areas I’m interested in. I have ITIL certification, Oracle certifications up to 11G, and Oracle Cloud certification as an associate. Additionally, I am an alumnus of Cambridge Judge Business School, where I completed an executive management program.
What Spinnaker Value most resonates with you and why?
Integrity is really crucial to me. It means doing and saying things because you believe they are right for the business or the world. Integrity involves conducting your actions in a way that reflects honesty and genuineness, whether dealing with a customer issue or managing your team. It’s about ensuring everything you do aligns with your values and ethics, focusing on reducing customer effort and increasing their ability to focus on their business.
Is there a particular project or accomplishment at Spinnaker Support that you’re most proud of?
One project I’m proud of involved implementing a loopback process to ensure diligence in security mitigation. This process ensures that when we provide mitigations to the teams responsible for managing our customers’ systems, they actually perform the necessary checks and balances. It’s about going beyond our direct responsibilities to ensure that our services make a real difference to the customer.
What excites you about the future of technology and Spinnaker Support’s role in it?
The ongoing advancements in technology, especially the shift towards cloud and microservices, are exciting. Spinnaker Support’s role is to enable customers to use these technologies effectively. We also provide advisory support to help customers understand what solutions are best suited for their needs, ensuring that their technological transformations align with their business objectives.
How do you envision the impact of emerging technologies on your work?
Emerging technologies like AI enhance our ability to reduce discovery times and improve incident understanding. Spinnaker’s adoption of AI allows us to enhance the expertise of our support teams, enabling them to deliver faster and more effective solutions to our customers.
Can you share a fun fact about yourself that not many people know?
I enjoy adventurous activities like desert safaris, including dune bashing and rappelling. These activities are quite thrilling and offer a contrast to the structured environment of my professional work. There’s a side of me that you wouldn’t necessarily imagine me doing it, but I do love adventures.
